Been having intermittent issue w/ ABS since I bought my 02 Edge back in Oct 01. Under panic braking, there is no pulsing and truck doesn't seem like it's going to stop until I hit something. Pumping the brake pedal doesn't help. Dealer and other shops can't diagnose problem. I say this is intermittent because this only happens at hwy speeds (55ish and up), in town panic braking is fine and I can feel the ABS kick in.

Hubs, pads(EBC green), drums and shoes are about 6 months old. No ABS light - flashing or steady, no codes.

I have 16" FX4 w/ 255/70/16 tires on my Edge. On a wim, I changed back to the factory 15" rims/tires but that didn't help. I didn't think it would since the 15's are what my Edge came w/ and it did it then too, but gave it a shot anyway.

Help me stop before I get sued.

The abs kick as you call it will only happen if one or more of the wheels is at the point of locking up.I'm not saying that you don't have a problem, but it is very hard to check things out if the tech has little to go on.

Hello; I got a new frame because I could not stop!! I was blaming my ABS brakes the whole time, but everybody thought I was crazy..I up-graded front w/slotted rotors and EBS pads and converted to rear slotted disc. Still just before stopping ABS was kicking in. I unhooked the ABS for a year then finally took it to the dealer. Finally found out it was a right front sensor giving out a false reading. I wondered why my light never came on?.....I would pull the ABS fuse until you find out what is wrong or you might be replacing your frame too :)
