well since I did a backhalf frame build on my truck I am obviously going to more than likely need bent tubing for my upper bag brackets. I am seing some pipe and tubing benders on ebay like the ones they had on trucks the manual ones. I just need to know if the tubing I need to use would be able to be bent by somthing like

The first one----- no way, unless you really wanna go thru shoulder replacement surgery.....and then still no....LOL
The second one---- maybe, but I'n not sure you could get the radius your would need....
Are you building a show vehicle?? if not why not just use 2x3 box tubing and weld a simple bar straight across??

I don't like either one of those
Check out www.Pro-tools.com
The model 105 is very popular.
JD2 also has a model almost identical
They are a more than that "pipe" bender but well worth it.
The pipe bended will work to bend tube but it will dent it with the rollers and flatten the bend. It is also pretty difficult to keep the tube from "rolling" in the dies on certain bends and duplicating bends is tough. If you just need a few pieces bent I may be able to help you. If you are looking for something for your shop I would definetly suggest the pro-tools 105.

Yea what he said. Pipe benders don't do well on TUBE. Usually end up with kinks, dents or flat spots.
If your gonna be bending tube get a tube bender.

i used one like the second one you have linked..it does leave flat spots and will not do tight radiuses...as long as the bends you are going for ar not that tight you can get away with it..but i dont recommend it...

I did this setup with the 2nd style you posted.

It does not bend tight radius, its difficult to duplicate bends, and it will put flat spots in the tube. I scrapped a few pieces. One trick is fill the piece you are bending with sand and weld caps on the end before you bend it. It minimizes the flatspots. it works OK but I dont think I'd do it again. For stuff I do now, I just draw up the bends I need and get a local metal fab shop to do them for me. That might be your best bet too. SD also sells pre bent sections.

I have the second pipe bender that you asked about, & used it to make a couple of bumpers and tire carriers. To make that bender work on tubing there is a couple of things to do:
-grind out the smaller dies to fit larger tubing,
-wrap the rollers with duct tape to prevent flat spots in the tube
-pack the tubing with sand before you bend
-make sure the seam on the tubing is facing down
Here are links to some offroad sites on the same topic
