what do you guys think about all those tank additives that are out there. Like the fuel injector cleaners, and those ones that claim to clean the carbon out of the engine. Is adding this stuff in with your tank of gas when you feul up harming anything and does anything of that stuff even work well?

Lots of guys report good results with injector cleaner and SeaFoam to de-carbon.
I run synthetic oil partly because of greatly reduced combustion chamber deposits, so its not a big issue to me, but I have put 5 oz per tank of acetone in for a few tanks (approx every 50k miles) - that does a wonderful job of cleaning up the injectors and whatnot, and its a lot less money than the injector cleaner.

Acetone, really??
I just use a 1/2 can seafoam in tank every 3,000 miles or so and run a 1/4 can of it through the vaccum line every 10,000 miles. And she runs great, almost like a new truck, and its 10 years old. With almost 97k miles.

Every now in then I put in some injector cleaner. I use seafoam every now and then. i think if you buy the right kind they work.

I run the lucas fuel lubricant.
It gives a slight boost in mileage but the real benefit is a smoother idle.

I used the Fuel Power 60 additive maybe a year ago while I still had some leftover from a trip I'd taken out to WY. Definitely quieted some of the raspiness down at higher rpm cruising.
I'm going to wait to see how the FP3000 fairs over at BITOG, and if it looks good, I'll go with that.
As for just doing a clean, Redline SI-1 also works very well for a once every few thousand mile cleaner...

Techron, because I know it works. The daughter's Corsica was acting up, where it would run rough when really cold outside, until warmed up. The mechanic said the injectors were dirty, and that on that car they were expensive to clean. He suggested Techron. It took about 4 bottles/tanks to have an effect, but it worked. That was about 2 years ago, and it's been fine since, but I'll periodically run a bottle through it.
