For those of you who have a 98-2007 Ranger 4X4's that seem to chew through ball joints one piece of advice I forgot about.

Buy MOOG!


The lower ball joints are greaseable and are at least 20% stronger then the ford spec part.

The upper control arm and ball joint assembly is visably much stronger and bigger then the ford part. It is also greaseable.

I worked in autoparts for over 10 years....and in my old age and lazyness forgot far too many of these little details.


I figured I could share some hindsight wisdom.

I work at a Ford Parts Department and I DO agree, the 98+ ball joints suck. We sell atleast 3 sets of uppers arms and lower joints a week.
