Keep the nitro tank and have some more bungs put on it, and just use that as your air tank, dont change the rest of it, except add a compressor or two.
slammedxonair Jan 13 2007, 03:25pm that nirtogen tank should be regulated into a normal air tank for starters so its kinda blead into the air tank. but i have a pretty good deal on some of the viair dual packs i would run the 380s or the 480s as they put out 200 psi. if your interested email me brian@illusivefabrications.com i also sell the air zeniths and the powerfull oasis along with a few others.

ah see, i didnt know there should be 2 tanks on a nitrogen setup, neat!
the 380s are fast, but the 480s are faster, just to give you an idea it takes about 10 full minutes to get to 180 psi on my 5 gal tank with 1 380. some people think thats not that long... but sit in your truck for 10 minutes, unable to drive...IT SUCKS.
moral of the story, spend about $400-$800 and get some good compressors and youll be more than happy, I think the dual 480s are $370 or so, but everyones prices are different.
slammedxonair Jan 13 2007, 03:42pm well actually most of the viar stuff is the same because of MAP pricing which is manufacturers advertised priceing where you cant advertise below that price but i can say, hey email me, viar dual pack prices to low to advertise :). and i have 1 380 on my ranger right now and a 5 gallon tank it takes a bit to air up especially if your playing with it alot other than that up and down your fine. but yea the 480 dual pack would kick some arse.

IT SUCKS!!!! you have a pm...
Mightygreenrang Jan 13 2007, 04:03pm Go with 2 480s and a 8 gallon tank.
slammedxonair Jan 13 2007, 04:08pm yea the 480 duall pack and an 8 gallon tank would be a good route. also keep ur nitro setup to play with at shows lol.
slow-n-low02 Jan 14 2007, 09:21am well the truck does have a 3 gall tank on it also.
it has two junk firestone compressors on it to. but i fig that the 3 gallon an i know with those two comps it wont be enough so i want to get it driveable.. it will be daily driven,.
the nitro thing.. well.. its become to much of a ecpense in the long run around here. i cant find anyone that will fill the tank have.. they all refuse an say i need to lease one with thre stamp/// unless i find a place in the area that will do this for me.. air in the long run will be cheaper.
thanks guys

blackgt00 Jan 14 2007, 10:01am yas 2 viars will be a great choice. and some pics of this truckwould be nice also
BlauSplash Jan 14 2007, 12:34pm I can get you Viairs or Oasis. Oasis is the shizzle if you have the 800 or so for one, but fill times are non existant.
The dual 480's on a 5 gallon would get you daily drivability, but not play time.

Ranger4x4.0 Jan 14 2007, 08:55pm why the hell arent you ranger people doing Sanden SD-508's? Hole-shot (before most of you guys' time) used one daily for like 4 years with no issues, and its a pretty bolt on affair for rangers, IIRC, he wrote the article on this site. 8 CFM and cheaper than a Viair...

LOL I remember hole-shot, I just like my a/c or was his built with a adapter?
slow-n-low02 Jan 14 2007, 11:56pm welp i tohught about getting one an building abracket an runnin it with a larger belt cause i dont want to loose my ac either.
Dan48p Jan 15 2007, 02:34am i can't sell you anything. all i can say is there was a big hype about teh 380c viairs. and they were garbage. 200psi sure. get a 450 or what ever the equivilant is now. maybe 360? 380? i'm not sure. but trust me, reliable beats that extra 50 pounds any day. and my 450's have been running 180psi. for the last 2.5 years just fine.
*edit* of couse that is the electric route in my opinion. i have used and seen many different electric compressors and that is my verdict
hole shot had that red std cab w/ the cobra r's right?
Ranger4x4.0 Jan 15 2007, 05:47am hole shot had that red std cab w/ the cobra r's right?
Still has it. You will see it some day, i guarantee it.
You have to ditch your AC, get a york to sanden conversion plate, longer belt, and its all bolt on from there.
Greggy18 Jan 15 2007, 04:48pm i had 2 viair 380's and 2 5 gallon tanks, never had a problem with the comprssors, they were slow compared to my engine driven, but i never had any problems with them...i would suggest an oasis or a york or sanden engine driven.
if you aren't worried about filling your tank in 3 minutes and have the 10 minutes to spare then a dual viair setup would be perfectly sufficient.
as far as tanks, most guys run either 2, 5 gallon tanks or 1, 12 gallon tank.
slammedxonair Jan 15 2007, 07:23pm ive never had a problem with my 380s and the 480s are 200 psi also but pump more air.
