I was changing my shocks today and i was removing the nut that holds the bottom of the front drivers side shock on that threaded stud and for some unspecified reason, the threaded stud twisted off after much effort. Now it seems i have to replace that whole piece of suspension to which the threaded stud was attached. Can anyone tell me what that piece of suspension is called? On the 93-97 rangers, it's the suspension part to which the bottom of the front shocks are each attached. Also, what would you do to fix this situation? Thanks.

That sucks! The first thing I'd probably do is check for excessive rust, maybe that's why it broke. If it looks o.k. I'd see if I could use a grade eight bolt and washers to hold the shock in until you figure something else out. Worse case scenario, run without the shock for now. Lot's of people don't have them. As for a permanent fix, I'll leave that to the 93-97 experts. Good luck!
