View Full Version : Blue Headlights
splash1996yello Jan 22 2007, 08:22pm Hi all new to the forum and had a quick question. I have a 1996 Ranger Splash yellow exstended cab and love it. I had to replace the headlights the other day becuase one was out. I got the sylvania "cool blue" because i wanted a nice blue headlight. To my dismay they aren't blue at all. I tried all different kinds of blue lights and nothing. I see some people on here have nice blue headlights and was wondering what there setup was. Thnaks for the helps guys i appreciate it!!
soccorjimmy Jan 22 2007, 08:38pm Most of us are running HID kits for our lights. Those fake blue ones are just a waste of money. I have gone thru every kind of so called blue lights from APC to PIAA adn the HID kit is expensive but worth it. JIMMY
NVRDONE Jan 22 2007, 08:50pm Yeah go with the HID kit, the most your gonna get is really white color, i got Silverstars and they're blue around the edges, most HID kits Ive seen are around $200.00.
splash1996yello Jan 22 2007, 08:54pm Aren't HID kits alot of work and require alot of modding to be put in. And there are may different kinds i see like 7001 or h4's. What do you recommened for a nice blue look?
soccorjimmy Jan 22 2007, 08:57pm All the kits are plug and play, very simple. I have the McCulloch 6000k kit. It is a bright white w/ a hint of blue. I hve had the 8000k which is more blue with a little white and the 10,000k which was to blue for me. The higher the number the less light on the road. You just need to get the kit for the 9007 bulbs. My Suggestion would be to get the projector housings and get the bulbs for the Projector......
Check out my pic link in my siggy, I have a McCulloch 8000k Kit....I love them!
splash1996yello Jan 22 2007, 09:32pm Im thinking that i may go for the 10000K because i really want a lot of blue mostly for looks because that what i went for with my sound system that has 2 dvd screens. So if i go 10000K would i need to change my headlight covers to clear to maximize the color or does that not matter with HID

aftermath865 Jan 23 2007, 09:22pm If you want blue headlights without going H.I.D Then get some Nokya stage 2 Arctic white headlights. They are 7000K and have a wattage of 100/120. Check their website at www.spwindustries.com I have them and they are blue! And they have lasted me over a year so far. They run about $30.00 a pair
