I have a slight problem with my steering collum lining back up with my power steering pump. Has anybody out there ever ran into this problem or know what i could do to fix it without completly relocating my steering collum.

you will probably need to shorten the link between the column and the pump....also possibly need to recut the hole in the firewall.

steering column lining up with your power steering pump? Do you have power steering or are you talking about the gear box on the frame for non power steering rangers?
You might have to do a couple of things, one of which is possibly shorten the steering shaft. You could also possibly add another joint, or move the mounting location up on the firewall.

everybody runs into this problem. You can do a few things...
1. rotate the steering box a little to make the angle more do-able.
2. get a custom steering shaft made
3. ididit column
4. relocate the column
Personally on my fullsize, I had enough slop in the steering shaft to make it work... I had to notch out my UCA and frame a little bit for it, but it worked nonetheless.

column or shaft? The shaft normally slides.... thats another reason mine worked too.

The steering shaft on mine was able to slide far enough for mine to work too. I figured his might be different though since it's a 94

You 98+ guys have a rack, 97- have the steering box on the frame. completely different setup.

That's what I was thinking, lol.

also, the 94 and older use a long column that goes through the firewall...where as the 95+ have a short column, and a short shaft that go through the firewall.

Guess it would be nice to have a 95 in this case lol. So the best bet would be to move the colum up.

I think I know what he is talking about, as you bring the cab down with the bodydrop the column and steering box will no longer be on the same plane. And the rubber bushing on the adjustable shaft may not bend enough to fit back in there. I have been looking at mine before I stripped the cab off the frame. I figure on mine (keep in mind I am not there in the build yet!) I would run a peice from the column down to a u joint, and then into another u joint to get it back together. Like they do on the 4X4 truck shows where they add to the shafts. If you have 2 joints and they seem to be a bit shakey you could support the center of the shaft.
If this is a bad Idea, let me know...just MO on how I might build it.

btw, here's some useful info from some other guys and a pic on how some people added joints to theirs or fixed their problem
