well I have been down to one 380 for a while now, now this morning my other 380 is barely pumping..i let it run for over an hour trying to fill my tank and have barely gotten it to 80 psi...I am hoping its just the cold, but i believe it has died..which sucks since its my daily..so before i go and by a new comp..should i try to rebiuld the 380's i have or is it just a waste of time and money..if it is, whats everyone think about the 480's..I am thinking of going to those if i have to replace my comps...I also am thinking of going to engine drive..which was origanally the plan anyways...dammit this sucks...at least its tax time and i am filing tonight..hopefully i will get enough to get a comp of some sort done and still be able to pay off a couple of bills...

Im goin to go with the viair 480 dual pack since everyone has been saying to stay away from the az's

the 480's are the quickest Electric compressors that can attain 200psi, minus the Oasis.

There are other options, Nitrogen, EDC, or the oasis.

but 2 480s are just badass on a 5 or 7 gal tank.

I have 1 380 on my 5 gal and it sucks...

well, this time my check valve on the comp and tank both froze and the filter in the watertrap, so I went out to start up my truck and let it run as usual since usually the comp heats up enough to thaw out the check valve on the comp since thats what usually freezes, well i come out an hour later and my comp is still running and the tank hasn't filled any...so i shut the comp off and pour boiling water over everything to thaw it out, start the comp back after letting it cool for about 20 minutes and after 35 minutes it had filled 40 psi into the tank...so i believe the comp must be shot now from running for so long

i think i wouldn't let it run that long to begin with, air tank at home? fill it with that so you can get going. but still dont do much for you when need more

yea thats the thing i dont like is your compressor is building up so much pressure behind that check valve fast and im assuming way over its pressure rating. i wonder if theres a cure for it lol.

I love my AZ. If you are afraid you will get a recall, order it from sd over the phone and tell them to check it to make sure. I want a second one.

I think they were having problems with the first batch of the AZ's I ordered mine way back when they first came out and I had nothing but problems. Sent it back got 2 fresh ones and they have been flawless. so I dont know maybe it was just the first batch

Some people talk about check valves not being necessary between the bags and the tank, this is a good example as to why they are nice to have.

I fill my bags up at night when I know I have to be somewhere early in the morning, and even though I have leaks around my tank, I can get in my truck and drive away, no problem.
