Hello.
Noise is driving me nuts...can someone pinpoint it please.
1996 Ford Ranger 2wd bagged front and back. A couple months back I started to get this moaning sound from the front end at ride height. If I lift the front end (positive camber) the noise disappears. however, recently I started to get a metal on metal sound from the front passenger side that starts up at about 30 mph and stops if I press the brakes. If I release the brakes it starts again.
Does this sound like a brake issue or wheel bearings about to go ? Like I side if I air up the front and camber the wheels out, it stops.
Help me please.

Yes it very well could be the wheel bearings on a '96 if they have never been replaced.

took it to the shop today and they wouldn't even pt it on the lift because it was bagged. Look like it is going to be a driveway do it yourself job. Any advice for replacing front wheel bearings ?

DONE. Turns out it was the front passenger wheel bearing. It looks like the inner seal failed because the grease inside was kinda watery. I went ahead and replaced the rotors and brake pads too. Took about 5 hours to do both sides.

Thanks for all the help.....even if it was in the form of old posts (SEARCH). Peace !!
