View Full Version : wheel offset w/ a expo rearend... roberto Feb 04 2007, 12:09pm jus had a q on whats the proper offset on a wheel if im running a expo rearend on a 96? thanks!! 93ranger2.3 Feb 05 2007, 09:24am I would like to know this as well. rubydist Feb 05 2007, 10:03am The early Rangers were narrower than the later ones - was it 93 0r 98 when that changed? I think it was 93, but I'm not certain. The Explorer axle is 1.5" wider than the late Ranger, 3" wider than the early Ranger. So, if you have a late Ranger, the stock offset of 12mm (1/2") needs to be increased by .75" (19mm) to keep the tire in the same location with the Expl axle. So, you would need an offset of ~31mm (~1.25") to keep the tire in the same place. If you have an early Ranger, you would need an additional 1.5" (38mm) of offset to keep the tire in the same location - an offset of ~50mm (2") on the wheel. Whether you want the rear tire in the same location as stock or not will depend on what you are wanting to do... |
