I want more power out of my truck. Any info on the superchip good or bad. I have read both good and bad. I have even heard of guys blown the engine and other have said the superchip was a waste of money! I don't want to waste money or trash the engine / trans.

I LOVE my chip and think it is a great addition to all of the other nods I've done.
I've never heard any stories of guys blowing their engine just because of a chip...
Hope this helps...

I put one in about a month ago now and I love it. Definately worth the money. You can pick one up for, I think it was 190 + shipping on the group purchase board, but that price is ending tomorrow. It's going tup to 220 after that. (Retail at Superchip.com is about 260).

well see the thing is mine messed up i had a superchips chip for about 2 yrs and it was fine it was ok mild proformance increase when it worked right but i had a problem with it not makeing contact with the computer so i took it back and the guy soldered the chip to the board and it worked fine for about a month then it messed up and started running rich so rich that i was going dead then i would hit the computer and it would work right but then you go down the road and it messed up (like something inside the chip wuz loose) so i wuz like "screw that" took it out and i have been running on the stock pcm for about a year so you've heard my bad story judge it for your self it could jist be superchips chip i am currently looking into other chip's and/or pcm's (if you know of any let me know) thats jist my 2 cents

USE PUNCTUATION! I'm no english major but when you write a long story like that with NO punctuation, it is a PITA the read. (Just venting...)
It does sounds like you had a contact problem. I had the same thing when I first installed my chip so I removed it and cleaned the hell out of both the contacts on the chip and the ECU.
I've never heard of anyone soldering in the chip...these chips are extremely sensative to static and if the person that installed your chip via soldering didn't take the proper precautions it is very possible they fried your chip...at very least, they shortened it's life.

Yeah, you got to clean both sides of the connectors and in between each one. I used a razor then cleaned it with some rubbing alcohol. No problems then.
