I have a question that I hope someone here can help me with. I have a 2005 Ranger Edge- 4.0-2 wheel drive- 4 wheel antilock brakes. The truck has 29000 miles and the front brakes are metal to metal already. here's my dilemma, it seems that this truck uses 2 different rotor sizes, 10.28" and an 11.28". WTF is wrong with Ford, using 2 completely different parts for the same identical vehicle. I asked the counter guy if maybe the difference may be 4 cyl vs 6 cyl but he said that it is for the above described truck. Please, someone enlighten me. Thanks

Is the rotors what they offer for your truck?? You may have hit the nail on the head the engine size probably dictates the rotor size . Just know what diameter your rotors are when ya pick em up..I thought you were saying ""Your"" truck has two different rotors on it now.

never knew they made a 4cyl edge... perhaps the larger is for the 4x4 and super cabs and 4.0, and the smaller for the regular cabs, 3.0. just a theory cuz something similar happens with drum sizes.
11.28 for the truck you stated, I just did mine friday

yep, they are 11.28 as I measured them today. I went to Murrays Discount Auto parts and bought a set of Premium Raybestos rotors, ( 5 year warranty ) and a set of Raybestos Ceramic low dust pads, ( lifetime warranty ). thanks for the help everyone, it's appreciated.
