I haven't seen anyone talking about/having a supercharger on the duratecs. Is there a reason behind this?
I know it seems odd to supercharge a 4 banger but I know alot of other automakers have done it and don't understand why no-one has done a duratec with one yet. Am I missing something

i think they make a s/c for the focus duratec that could be moded to fit a ranger

turbo is the better way to go on a smaller displacement engine. a s/c requires power to make power, where as a turbo takes little. like those SS cobalts... little gain, slow.
as far as doing it, yeah go for it but:
s/c < turbo
... as far as smaller displacement engines go.

the supercharger for the focus is actually for a zetec engine so not quite sure it would work. And for super charging turbo is almost easier and cheaper if you know what you doing.

I was just thinking because of the lack of room in the engine bay it might be an option instead of a turbo. the cobalt sux but I knew a dude that had a s/c 2200 cavalier and that was pretty quick.

I don't think it'd be any easier to try and squeeze a blower in there that a turbo. Turbos are definitely more efficient (and adjustable), and that's the primary reason you see them more often on small displacement engines.
