I asked this exact same question last month. The stock rods are good to about 250hp, no apparent head, cam, or valve problems, and the stock intake and exhaust are more than adaquate for most uses. There are NO ranger specific upgrade intake, exhaust, or turbo manifolds. NO ONE claimed to have blown one up yet!!! I've got 99+K and running strong. I use Motorcraft semi-synthetic 5W30 on 5K changes. Hope this helps, Kenny

I've got 125k on my '03 duratec, and other than a new slave cylinder for the clutch at 86k, no driveline issues to mention.

I only have 47K miles on my 2001. Not a single problem with the engine.

The rest of the truck has a few minor annoyances (shifter knob falling off, dashboard light burned out, oil pressure gauge bouncing when cold), but the motor has been purrrrfect!

Nothing really major here. I had to have a leaking timing chain cover gasket replaced at 2100 mi along with a list of many other small peeves. I bought the extended warranty so I'm using it for every little stupid thing imaginable, especially on the engine. I only have 3k on it now.

106k now on my 02. I've only opened the hood for fluids, a belt and a new battery. zero issues.
