Since I have recently recieved my 1996 Ford Ranger I have always had my CHECK ENGINE LIGHT on.
My grandfather who was the previous owner says that it has ALWAYS been ON.

I am wondering if any of you have had the smae problems and know what it takes to fix it.

I see that the PVC need be switched out at 60,000. I am sure he didn't do it. Is THAT my problem ?
Needless to say I am getting a hard time form the emissions inspection......

Thanks for any suggestions.

Go to an auto parts store and get the codes pulled. They will do it for free. Do that and report back for help. It could be a number of things. Having the DTC will pinpoint it.
