here's all the airbag codes that i've found for ford. There is no consistent set of codes for all airbag vehicles so you need to use the correct chart for the year, make and model, in this case a 2001 Ranger.
For this vehicle, 4-6 is the code for incorrect resistance in the seatbelt pretensioner circuit (code 4-6 driver side, code 4-7 passenger side). It is a common problem and is usually caused by a poor connection under the seat.
Turn off the ignition, open the connector, clean the pins and reassemble. Applying dielectric grease to the pins should make for a better repair. In rare cases, the connector might need to be replaced.
