Just curious... anyone ever think of making a pass-through with the speakers mounted in an ordinary-looking toolbox? If you figured out some sort of quick-release bladder between the cab wall and the box itself, it might work as an easily removable system.... Heck, you could probably even devise a piece to cover up the pass-through if the box isn't in the bed...

This is probably an answer to a question that nobody ever asks, but just thought I'd share...

I actually did think about that a few years ago. One thing I thought of is that tool boxes are not always waterproof, and water kinda kills a stereo.

True enough, but I'd imagine those plastic ones are pretty watertight, and you could put a gasket on it or something... Just a thought...
