How would a Magnaflow exhaust system sound on a 4 banger?

The last thing I want is my truck to sound like a Honda civic or wanna-be-4.0-liter...

Thoughts, opinions.

I have a Magnaflow on my 3.0L. I love the sound. Had a Flowmaster 40 and hated it. To loud and to much resonance inside the cab.
Not sure how it will sound on the 4 cyl. Try it and see.

BTW: That web site says that cat back system is for 3.0 and 4.0 motors. Also $432 for that system is steep.
May I suggest you get under your truck and measure the muffler. Length. width, hight. Then go to the magnaflow web site.
Find a muffler that's close or if possible an exact match. Then go check E-bay. I'll bet you can find a muffler that will do the job for less than $100.
Probably closer to $60-75. Take the muffler to a local muffler shop and have them remove your current muffler and weld up the Magnaflow.
I'll bet you can do the whole thing for less than $200.

I'd suggest searching & reading - there are FAR too many exhaust & muffler posts already started, no need to have another one when there isn't any new ground to be covered.

So let me get this straight... You don't want a four cylinder to sound like a four cylinder? Well if thats the case drop a 4.0 v6 in, then your truck will sound like a v6, or maybe if you have enough enginuity you could put a v8 in it and make it sound like a v8. But no matter what you put on your truck you are going to get a FOUR BANGER sound. Now on the plus side, unless you run a free flowing muffler, it might be a little deeper than a Honduh, but you have to remember a 4 cylinder is a four cylinder, and it is really tuff to make it sound like anything else.
So I am going to take a wild guess and say you are looking for a muffle for you Duratec? I ended up going with a Flowmaster and 2.5" exhaust cat-back, but if you dont like it loud I would steer away from it, but as for performance its the best muffler. I plan on doing more to my truck so thats one of the reasons I went with it.
And one last thing SEARCH, SEARCH, SEARCH, That button isn't there for nothing, and just to let you know, it gets anoying to hear the same question over and over, so take a few minutes and search and read. Then once you haven't found what you are looking for then ask. Previous post will answer ALMOST any question. Good luck and hope you find the answers you are looking for.

Magnaflows are pretty deep. I'd go with that or a Flowmaster 50 Delta Series, one of the lowest toned ones available. It's supposed to be quiet inside the vehicle with a nice rumble outside. Never heard one personally, but the design sounds right.
