looking to do a tuneup on my '00 2.5 Ranger, and i came across a problem. I have had good luck with ACCEL in my past Fords, and my local AdvanceAuto sells them.

But theres 2 coils i come up with...

On Summitracing.com they say i need this one- 140028

The Advance Autoparts says i need this one- 140018

ACCEL's site says that the 1st one is for 99.5-2004 Rangers and the 2nd one is or 89-99.

But i didnt think Ford changed the 4 bangers between 98-00. AND my stockers look like the 2nd one What gives?? :mind-blow

and summit racing is ALOT cheaper on BOTH them coils... almost HALF of what Advance wants.

I have a 98 2.5l and i bought the second one. Go to autopartswarehouse.com, they have the second one for the 2000 4cyc ranger, plus its free shipping

If either coil fits, it's your choice. Looking at the harness connectors it appears from the pic's that they,re the same. The only thing that would concern me is the mounting holes. The Summit coil looks like the spacing of the mounting holes are wider. That may be an illusion due to the larger illustration. If it's just a stock coil you're needing then buy the less expensive coil.

Go with the second one to be safe, I've had problems with summit sending the wrong stuff
