Hello all. My airbag light is on in my 2003 ranger 3.0 and it comes on, then goes off and then comes on and blinks 7 times then stays on. Help please.

Count the blinks again. All 2003 airbag flash codes have 2 different numbers such as 2-7 or 4-7.

I recounted. It is 4-7.

That is the code for incorrect resistance on the seatbelt pretensioner circuit (code 46 driver side, code 47 passenger side). It is a common problem and is usually caused by a poor connection under the seat. Turn off the ignition, open the connector, clean the pins and reassemble. Applying dielectric grease to the pins should make the repair last longer. In rare cases, the connector might need to be replaced.

This may not apply but your Restraints Warranty lasts for 5/50,000 and this repair would be covered if you were within those limits.

The drivers side seatbelt is assembled incorrectly. It does not go through the hole in the side like it should. don't know if that could cause it. they did it at th shop when i had stereo stuff installed.

Your code is for the passenger side belt pretensioner and it is for an electrical problem. The connector that is usually at fault is the under the passenger seat.

i know the haynes manual does, but it varies by the year, IIRC. i may be wrong though...
