I got a few questions on these "super chips". Myself, driving a 2.3l 4 cylinder engine rated at stock 110 hp. I have added exhaust, performance plugs & wires, and kkm intake. Every time I install something it says it adds 10hp or something stupid. Is it me or do these mods add like 1 hp (and if that). Well now I came across the super chip. Being I drive a manual, what exactly will this chip do for me? All it seems to say is it increases my MAX speed by removing the speed limiter. Oh and of course it adds like 11 hp/17ft torque. Will the chip do ANYTHING for me. I'm getting desprite. And I'm too stupid to swap engines. If these chips are all that they are talked about to be, where should I get one from and for the best price?

Thanks!
Marc

I don't know if I think that they are worth the money. If you want to remove your top end speed govner do the VSS+ mod. It removes that limiter with the simlpe cut of a wire! Find BOSS 3.0 he has the specs on his site. I would do an elec. fan mod and under drive pully. I noticed more power with those than with the superchip I installed.

Stuff Like Air Intake spark plug wire, will not increase you HP by 10, An exhust could and from what I hear about chips they can add noticalbe gain in HP.

I think the benefits from a chip are more obvious after you do the other mods. The chip needs to be the last thing anyway so they can program it to your other mods. Personally, if I had an older vehicle I would bump up the timing and run premium in it, which is mostly what the chip does. Well, maybe a couple other things but most of the improvement comes from the timing change.
