Its a 3.0L.........NOT :secret: it has a fairly well built 5.0 in it trickflow heads custom tuning and some other goodies.

I have a theory. I think the aero drag on the ranger was substancially reduced by the tailgate being down, I'd like to see them run with the both tailgates up..... LOL :)

That's a rumor...in fact, it was DISPROVED on an episode of Mythbusters. You'll get better aerodynamics with the gate up.

They are damn close in the 1/4 mile. Top speed the ram wins. Now if you spend a couple hundred dollars on a smaller pulley, then it will smoke the srt10:quagmire:

This is cool and all, but he should have blocked out the plates on his truck. People here, tennessee, have had their driver's license suspended for making such videos on public streets. I'm not saying that I would not have done this myself :burnout:. But i wouldn't want the evidence. the video clearly shows what his tag number is and that he is from Arkansas. Just a little note. But I thought the video was COOL.:smokin:, I think your tach is wrong though, your cam would have such a high lift, that I would think It would have sounded like a stockcar with a very rough idle and would not be that streetable. theyve got a new one where the ranger races a lightning. beats the lightning too. really cool.about the tach, i read an artical here on rps that said if you didnt move a wire on the tach, it would be improperly calibrated for a v8 if originally it was a v6. so theres the tach figured out. stil cool as hell though.

Its a 347 stroker with edelbrock heads and intake and a tune. Not sure about the cam, and obviously some kind of automatic.
It runs 11.4 tho! Badass!

i read once ford lightning and srt 10 was doing tests
and srt 10 was going 1 mph faster and 1 second difference in 0 to 60 run so for the price
i would take ligthning cuz its like 30,000 cheaper then srt

A 6000lb truck with 500HP can't keep up with a 400HP 3500lb truck... It may not look like he was trying but I am sure he was beating that $60K steering wheel as the $15K ranger drove away from him like he was going in reverse.

Mythbusters isn't always right, i tested with driving with my tailgate down and im getting 50-75 km more out of a tank of gas then when i had it up

Same truck different videos. I posted a long time ago about his build because I was considering building one myself. He was trying to sell it at the time. If I had the cash I would have jumped on it.
