Does anyone know if it is possible to get the red out of the lense of the 3rd brake light to make a "home made" clear brake light??? I'm desperate for a clear one, but as far as I know they don't exist. Has anyone done anything to make it clear or know any ideas? AHHH!!! SOMEONE JUST TELL ME SOMETHING!!!!!:nuts:

ex-90 tried to make clear thirds with NO success,I even went and got the cargo light off of my 88 to see if I could make that work....it would work if you fabricate a small plate to cover the HUGE hole behind our lights.

yeah, I tried to make a clear light. didn't work. first I tried to get the red off but that just hazed over the lens really really bad. then I made a mold and tried to make a totally clear lens. but that failed also. it was malformed and fogy. I tried like 5 times and never could get it clear. oh well

well i dont know about the laws where you live but here its stated as "brake lights must be red in color" maybe its different in your areas though.

Just put in a red bulb up there.

If you don't mind doing some cutting I've heard that the red part on an F-150 just peals off or pops out so it will be completely clear but you will probably have to cut your cab some to get it to fit. I haven't tried this but I know someone who did it to a Dakota so its just a thought.

Glad im not the only one who has thought of doing this, but my idea was just that an idea. It never got off the ground so i guess that makes me one lazy fuktard, but know i know that i cant do it and in the words of gi joe "knowing is half the battle"
