For some reason, I can't get my .pdf to open. If you are having the same problem, and need to take a gander at my pin-out, PM me. Send me an email address. I have it saved in Excel Format.

I'd be rather certain that you can. I have the '89 Wiring Diagram. Between the diagram and and "hands on" with the Instrument Panel, I laid out this "Pin-out". If you have the '84 Wiring Diagram, it's just a matter of sitting down and tracing where "things" go. There probably are similarities between the two different generations, but that's what you're gonna' tell me. Use mine as a guide, use your wiring diagram, and tell me the differences.

I have a 1993 Ranger XLT I4 5sp. w/o tachometer someone told me that a Explorer gauge cluster with the coil packs (in other words 4.0L) will work so I pulled a gauge cluster out of a '91 explorer. I installed that cluster and It didn't work

this is what happened

1. signals or hazard signals do not show up
2. Hi-beam light stays on at all times when the headlights are on
3. CHECK ENGINE light is on constantly (it wasn't on before)
4. Low Power (battery) light stays on
5. when headlights are turned on, gauge lights turn off.

My first thoughts was that I plugged it in wrong then someone told me that I have the wrong Cluster and referred me to a thread on here. I read up that the '93 and '94 Explorer cluster will work without re-pinning. If so Is it worth returning my cluster in exchange for a 93-94 cluster or should I re- pin it.

thanks,

Randy

I don't seem to be able to get the .pdf to open up any longer. (?) If anyone needs to see this pin-out, I have it saved in Excel format. PM me, and provide me with an email address - I'd be glad to attach it to an email.
