I know that there is one, but I forgot what the name of it is. It was in a minitruckin magazine about a year ago.

This can be done by the dealer, its an easy change. They (or you) need to calculate "revolutions per mile". Measure the circumference (around) the tire. However many inches that is, divide that into 63360. (thats how many inches in a mile)...The dealer can use their equipment to recalibrate the truck with that info. =)

I doubt that the dealer would do it for free under warranty. If you modified your wheel height by changing the stock tire, wheel or a combo of the two, you kinda' voided the warranty as far as a free adjustment of the Vehicle Speed Sensor goes. Give it shot. Ya' never know, they just may do it for nothin'. Let us know how much they charge ya' if there is a cost involved. I'm gonna' need to do the same thing when I change to 17" rims and 45 series sidewall tires. It's either pay the dealership or live with the speedo being off by approx. 4 mph. This is only needed on 98+ vehicles. I've been told that the 97' and earlier trucks can by adjusted by changing the speedo gear.

No, I do not think the warranty would cover it, but I don't think the dealer would charge more than 1/2 hr time to recalibrate that, but I am only guessing.
