a good friend of mine needs a tranny and she cant find one to save her life..she got this truck in 1990..its a 85 and it only has 4th gear

any sugg.? will the tranny fit from other engines? 2.9,3.0 any??

I haven't really ever heard of any manual transmission problems in any car, ever, so I will assume she has an Autotragic. If this is the case, she has the ford A4LD Automatic transmission. They are abundant but they are crap. It would probably be wiser and cheaper in the long run to swap to a 5-speed if there's even a slight chance of her, or you, knowing someone who can do that.

i can tear it a part but i work 50-70 hour weeks so i dont have time. it will be easier for me to pull one from the yard,and swap it

Then pull one from a yard dude. Lol, you got it easy. Pulling Manuals are a walk in the park compaired to Auto's. Just pick one up from a junk yard and get a new clutch and some new fluid and put it in.

As far as she is concerned, why did she not have the borrow-ie fix the problem?
