best thing to remember is that good research and time thinking it through is the best bet. I have been gathering parts and pices for my efi turbo mod and am still wondering how much is is gonna cost me lol

In my opinion if you go all new and have a pro do it, think about 3-4.5k done and done right. Sounds like alot but is 50% more power worth the money? only you can answer that question for yourself.

Is it worth it in the long run? well my favorite line is one from dream car garage( does anyone need a car like this? NO!! but do we all want one like this? Heck yes!!!!)

I don't see anything cheap about those setups!

I probably have $500-600 in converting my 302 to a blow-thru setup with a single holset.

But that is scouring ebay and getting a lot of free/cheap parts.

Yes their is,scrool down on the home page and go to the first turbo car on the left. It's called the budget twin turbo 351w.

If you are going to get a good tune on the mpfi then I say go ahead because it is safer. But if not do the carb setup it to me is actully easier.

To a lot of the guys here, the $2800 spent is still beyond what they'd be willing to spend on a "budget" build up, and that isn't a kind of system you'd want on a daily driver. The budget would seriously go up if you don't have most of those parts laying around or can't find them in the boneyard. Also a hybrid carb & 100% duty cycle EFI (under boost) setup doesn't sound like a very good idea, especially when the injector is just epoxied into the side of a piece of home PVC plumbing. I can just imagine the fireball that would happen if it came loose and was spraying the hot turbo with fuel. This is not a good setup when you know how rubbery PVC can become under high underhood heat conditions, especially when it's stuffed with two turbos!

A carb can be easier, but you still have to know how to tune & jet it properly to avoid overly rich/lean conditions that can kill a boosted engine in a hurry. Pulling the plugs to read them doesn't look like a very fun or quick project in that beast!

if u have the tools and know wat ur doing carb is deff cheaper.. i deff can say that after watching two race teams in my area converting to carb due to the fact that the amount of money they spent on fuel injection upgrades including rails , lines , nd injectors plus the amount of money they spent on tuning it was not worth it.. they spent half of wat they spent on the parts compared to wat they spent on the fuel injection build.. dnt get me wrong but fuel injection is deff more reliable then carb and carb is not the best way to go for daily driving.. would u rather spend 1800 on all aeromotive components too build a badass car or spend half that just by sending ur carb too barry grant nd he turns it into a blow thro.. thats my opinion but growing on the locals around me who run in a few classes not sure wat ones but 1 team is running 8.20s on there carb setup.. they said if ur a budget racer and dnt wana dish out serious cash carb is the way to go..
