Does anybody know how to easily clean the wax off of these plastic fendar flares that come on the XLTs? Everytime I wax the truck I can't help getting wax on these, and is a pain to remove.

Somebody once told me to mask these off before I wax the truck, but I never seem to remember to do it.

That is a tough one, but here are some ideas. They may or may not work.

Try spraying the flares with tire wet. This will make thme look shiny, plus wax has a harder time going on to an oily surface. Just be carful tha you don't get too much tire wet on the paint.

You could try putting a coat of clear on the plastic. This might make the wax blend witht he clear when wiped off.

The tape idea is not a bad one, it is just time consuming

You can remove the wax whit some denaturated alcohal or very weak paint thinner (mineral spirits is pretty good). This wil dry the plastic out, so you will have to use black magic or another plastic cleanr right after.

Are you talking about the crack in between the fender and flare?? If so just get a toothbrush and clean it out. I don't have a problem with my flares, are they painted?? or just black plastic?
