once again they are screwing us over on the amount they are supposed to be paying for the banner ads

its not even enough to pay for the server here lately so for the last few months its been out of pocket

this might be the first time we have to ask for some donations to help get us over this hump

If you need halp on the $ i can give what I can. This place has help me out tons of times. I don't know how much a college student can help, but I'll try.

I'll ask around and see if anyone has some good paying banners.

Also would it help if we click on the banner once in a while. I know some of them only pay when they get someone to link from the main site.

insetad of asking for donations why not sell somethign to the mebers and make a profit off it so they feel like they are getting something...for insatnce an rps tshirt..try and buy them for under ten bucks and then sell them to mebers for like 25...so people would be donating and gtting somehting abck in return..i have worked for oranizations that collect donations and this aklways worked well fro us?

do a pre orde thing collect the money and have someplace ready to go witht he printing of the shirts everyone will understand it might take a few weeks tog t the shirts in....just an idea1

I'm pretty new to the forum, but I can tell that it will be providing me with the help I need in the future. If this comes through, it could be a great way to raise money to keep it alive. well...i hate banner ads, but you might have to put one up and get some sponsers and that way you will have some revenue...I ma sure there are some web geniuses on this forum that will do the work.

I didn't realize this problem until it was mentioned.
I have brought it to my families attention and we are seeing what we can do about a mass shirt order (24-36)..i'll get them done as fst as i can if at all possible and use this as a business expense on our end and donate the shirts to this board so that you may offer them for the donation...you get the shirts,my family gets to write it off as an expense under promotion\advertising,,,,,i'll keep you informed

Hey Jim, do you think its possible to maybe do a raffle of some sort. For example say a set of those new headlights, or KKM intake, set of shocks, etc. But then again it may be hard to find something that lots of people would want since so many people have already bought what they need/want.

it's already in the works,,my parents own a silk screening\embroidery shop on Hilton Head,,,just need to get the graphic finished on that system and proof it,,,then i'll start with at least two dozen shirts...as soon as they are ready,i'll get the addy from you and ship them 2nd day air...as soon as we start to see how many your going to need total,i'll do a second run and ship.....

I got one of them purply-blue-green trucks, so no colour really goes with it. But whatever you can do. I'd gladly take a sticker instead.

Maybe a supplier would donate a lowering kit to be raffled off to raise funds. If I don't win the raffle I would be VERY inclined to buy a kit from a company that donated one to the club.

I think that is a good idea. You'd be drumming up business for the supplier, and you get some coinage from it all. One prob though. For those who either lifted, will lift, or have already dropped their trucks, they might not be so inclined to chip in. But then again, where would a lot of them be with out RPS. I'd say almost all wouold buy in, but just to be safe, mayeb it could be a more of a universal prize. But who knows.

how about like a $500 gift certificate to some place. that is a good universal prize that you can do about what ever you want with. that will not get a drop kit most places, but it would be a good start.

Jim, have you looked at other advertising companies? I have never personally used them, but Clickzen.com must be doing something right. They made a profit of 1mil their first year in business. They are eather good, or not paying their host sites well.

I'm game for the $30 T-Shirt and Sticker options myself. The raffle ticket thing is a good idea as well. But the T-Shirt/Sticker options opens the forum up to more advertisement and there by inreasing traffic and possible money to the website. I have gained too much knowledge (Mostly B.S. :E) and friends as well to let it all fall down like that.

I'm in! I have learned WAY too much from this site (I still have a lot to learn, but it shows ya I didn't know much when I came here). Not to mention the great people I have met. Shirt and a sticker sounds good.

Whatever it takes! I'm game for it. Sounds like the shirt/sticker idea is probably the easiest/quickest way to get your fix. Though you might want to think of some of the other ideas for later on down the road. I've been hanging out here for too many years to see this site go down and I think a lot of other people would agree with me on that.

My former work place was a non-profit group and we had t-shirts made up with the logo and stuff on the front and then small business card or a little larger ads on the back of the shirt for different local sponsors and stuff. They paid us so much to have their companies name put on our shirts.

Anyone who want's to be a member of Rangerfourm.com or RangerPowerSports.com will need to pay an annual membership fee of about $15.00-$20.00. Based on the current membership count of 673 members, this would raise between $10,000.00-$13,000.00 for the site and help keep it up and running. The money would help Jim pay for routine maintenance, future upgrades and bandwidth the two sites use. I think we can all agree this is the best Ranger site on the web so why not support it. I'm only talking about $1.25-$1.60 a month here and I personally think it's well worth the money. Heck, I'd be willing to pay $25.00-$30.00 to help keep the site running smoothly. I know a couple other sites (not Ranger ones) that charge anywhere from $40.00-$60.00 to be a member so $20.00 is nothing.

Lets show Jim we support the two sites and all the hard work he puts in keeping them both running.

Have you thought about opening a section on the site that sell RPS and RangerForum stuff. It may sound corny but hats, key chains, t-shirts, wall banners (like you see in a garage), etc. We have used hats and what-not at trade shows to get our name out there (I am in the aviation parts repair business) to generate additional business. It would be the same here, drive Ranger owners to the site, they see the "RangerForum Merchandise" link, pick up a few items...you make a little $$ for the support of the site. Just a thought...
