ive heard good things and bad things about b2s. im probablly getting one soon and i heard they flip really easy. im sure its easier to flip it than other vehicles but they dont flip that easilly do they?

would lifting a b2 be a bad idea because they are top heavy cause if i get one i dont always wanna have to worry about flipping it cause i still wanna be able to have some fun it.

well tell me what you all think

thanx

I'm not sure that b2's tip any easier than a jeep or any other small suv. They do tip easier than a full size truck. B2's have a very short wheel base, this makes them very easy to drive thru the trails. On a dirt road I can turn my b2 around without having to go thru the ditch or putting it in reverse. Driving down the road at higher speeds the steering response is very quick, this could lead to roll over with a person that is not use to this vehicle.

I agree with what nlty said. They aren't any more prone to roll than say Jeeps, but yes they can roll over. Since I lowered mine, I don't have any of that problem anymore though. One of the best ways to prevent rollover when you lift it is to put a wider offset rim on it.

Another way to keep the body roll down (less tipy) and to really improve the handling is to install Urethane sway bar bushings front and rear. All BII's should have sway bars.

there are many other things to do to help as well, but the bushings are cheap and easy. Mine as well get some good stiff shocks too.

I have been driving my BII for 6 years. I have come close to rolling her once on a really off camber trail.
I can see how one could get her sideways and flip at high speeds too, especially under heavy braking (hence the reason Ford did the RABS)
Even with my 3" lift and 31" tires I think it would really take some doing (on road) to roll a BII, either have to be an idiot (sharp turn at high speed) or un-lucky (try to avoid an accident) to really flip one.

Of course the key to improve the handling (like stated above) is to stiffen up the suspension, replace worn suspension parts, and use some wheel with a good amount of offset.

I am running Explorer axles front and rear, 15x8" rims with a standard offset (3.5") and 31" tires. All Uerthane bushings in the suspension with a Duff 3" VR lift. Doesnt feel tippy to me at all....

So when you buy your BII, just make sure you get used to it before you try anything sudden. HTe rear ewnd can get sideways in about 1/4 of a second when the streets are wet, tires are old, or suspension is worn out. Doesnt take much to have your real wheel try and pass you when turning a corner and applying the gas....

Almost rolled mine once. It was probably due to the fact that I had the 5.0 wound and was running over 120 mph. Now that it's lowered, no high speed problems.
