Hey there, i have a 2008 Sport 4x4 and was changing the tires today when i noticed that the rear end isnt centered. I measured from the frame to the tires and the passenger side was sticking out 3/4" farther. I never noticed before but now that i have its annoying me alot lol. Is there anything i can do to shift it over? It seems to me that i would have to move the spring perches or something. Has anyone else noticed this on theirs? And if i dont change it will it have any negative effect? I wonder what the dealership would say if i showed them it.

it's a ranger thing, the rear is offset.
If the tire actually sticks out past the bed, you can try adjusting your bed.

yeah man check the bed... one question is it bad enough its noticeable from the naked eye???
The tire isnt sticking out past the bed, and i dont think anyone else would notice the problem unless they were looking for it. Its just kinda annoying now that i noticed it lol. Ill try shifting the bed, thanks guys!

the rear pumpkin isnt centered if that is what you are talking about and there is nothing you can do with it.
The axle tube on the pass side is shorter then the axle tube on the drivers side.. Its kind of a deal with it thing..

Its offset to promote lubrication in the ujoints. The needle bearings need to rotate otherwise they would wear flat spots and go bad.
Check your body lines see if your bed is set off to one side or the gaps are not the same from side to side.

I've never noticed the diff being offset but have seen a lot of Rangers that lean to one side :-)

Ranger lean is totally different than the offset of the axle.
The lean is caused from the heavy fuel tank and the fat drvier on the same side.
New springs will fix it. However it will return.

I know mine from the factory is on the drivers side.. The 89 B2 that I had with a 2.9 was on the drivers side.. The 85 B2 with the 2.8 I think was on the drivers side.. Don't really remember .. and if I remember right the 02 Exploder that I had was on the drivers side.. Not sure why yours would be on the pass side when everything for a Ranger especially the 4cyl goes that direction..

My passenger side tire sticks out wider than my drivers side. I only noticed it after the truck was lowered though.
