Happy New Year All! Hope 2009 is better than 2008!

Alright, so i am setting up my 4x4 Ranger (Dee Arr) for the 2010 Peterson's 4wheel and offroad Top Truck Challenge/Ultimate Adventure. I was planning on putting the axle out a 06 Rubicon with coil overs, but after a little romping in the desert this weekend, i noticed that the IFS worked fantastic on the trails. As you can see in my Signature, i already have the lift kit, and yes there will have to modification for the Rubi axle, but i have already donethe swap on an 04 with a friend. Does anyone know how well the IFS holds up in rock crawling?

Sorry for the run on....:blahblah:

You might want to check out OffroadRangers.com for hardcore suspension mods. The Dana 35 case is made of aluminum and is likely to crack if you beat on it with large tires.

You aren't going to break a pig with large tires (MUCH more likely to break shafts, joints and hubs with a locker and anything bigger than 35s), you can break them by droping them on rocks though.
The TTB can be setup to crawl and flex but for top truck challenge I think you're better off with a solid axle, you need a real D44, not a rubicon axle, and anything bigger than 36s I'd step it up to a D60.

i'm sticking with 35's. Well, the Cherokee's have D44's in them too. I have 38's on my CJ and it has the D35, and i swear it is going to snap one day...

I thought UA required a 37" or larger tires.

I have all the requirements if any of you guys want me to post them up. It would be awesome to see some more rangers out there on the trail!

if you were going to be jumping it i would say long travel IFS cause if you look at all of the trophy trucks they all run IFS but if you were going to be rock crawling i would recomend solid axle

if you really want a good outcome, ur gonna need a solid axle dana 60's front and rear, 37"+ boggers, 5.13 gears, front and rear lockers, and more torque...

You want to join the top truck challange with an IFS? SFA is defiantly going to be what you need, those IFS are way to susceptible to being broken when compared to the solid axle. I'd say do a D44 that's built (if not a D60) lift it 8" and throw some 36's under there. Use coil overs up front and some nice leafs in back. an at least would be nice but I mean, its expensive. This is the top truck challenge after all.
