Well a long time ago I was playin around doin some doughnuts having a good time, then I realized everytime I hit the gas my shifter would move a good bit over to the left and I mean the good bit is prob an inch or so very noticble. I should be yanking my motor out soon to do the turbo swap and would like to fix this problem while I have it out. for the longest I thought this was a just a broke tranny mount but some people have told me it could b e a motor mount. My motor dosnt move any more excessive to me but I never really payed attention to it. Any opionions would be greatly apprecaited thanks

Alot of times if it's the transmission mount, the truck will shift the the side when you give it gas. It will feel like the rearend is shifting.

Most every standard I've ever driven always has shifter movement under acceleration/decelleration. are you sure it didn't do this before?
if you busted a mount you would be more than likely be gettin a lot of noise and clunking. have you ever looked under the hood while revving an engine?!? the mounts allow for a fair bit of squirm... and the tranny moves with it, and your shifter is connected to that....
especially with bigger engines. and the older and more worn the mounts are the more they move.
I remember the 289 in my '67 would twist what looked like 4 inches with a stab of the throttle... but thats what 300ft/lbs of torque gets ya lol.
My brand new '08 shifter moves under acceleration too. Might not be an inch, but at LEAST 1/2".

my shifter would move in the old 94 when i would rape its balls, prob about an inch or two. it would hit the tranny tunnel in certian positions. it ended up being a engine mount. and like said it feels like it pulls in an angle like a ratchet when the tranny mounts broke.
