Hey guys i have a 96 2.3l 2wd that is lifted 4 inches. Right now i am running 31x10.5's and my truck is waaaay more gutless than it was stock. Im wondering what differrential gears i should get to get the gearing back to were it was when i had stock tire size. I currently am running 3.73's. I was thinking 4.10's??? My second question is what axles will swap in with my year truck? I would like to have the whole axle and differential with 4.10's that i could just get at a junkyard and swap in. Im fine with a little fab work if it is required. Thanks in advance!

I would prefer 4.56s with a 2.3. Any 90+ axles should swap in, 93+ are about 1.5"s wider.
go with an explorer axle. you can then have disk brakes, and a stronger axle as well. and they're not that hard to swap in.

Would i have to flip the leaf spring mounts on an explorer axle? I have heard that they mount the leaf spings under the axle instead of over. thank for the responses guys!

Yeah, you'd have to move the spring mounts...
cant you use the explorer leafs to keep it at the same height?

My lift in the rear uses blocks so i think i would have to flip the mounts.

How much d you think a junkyard would charge for a whole axle and diff off an explorer?
anywhere from 100 to 300 depending
