View Full Version : Bleeding clutch system, the problem and my solution. toetagandrew Jan 25 2009, 05:54pm Here is why it is such a problem. http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu200/toetagandrew/Picture008.jpg toetagandrew Jan 25 2009, 06:04pm I tried every technique I found on the internet to bleed the damn thing with out removing the master cylinder. The solution I found is to jack up the front of the truck up as high as I can to level out the master cylinder and using a syringe (full of fluid) force the air out with. http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu200/toetagandrew/Plunger-1.jpg?t=1232928263 After that I close the bleed valve reconnect the reservoir top it off pump the clutch a few times (Slowly compressing it and quickly decompress it.) and let it sit for 30 minutes. I repeated these steps until i got the pressure in my clutch back and two times after that for good measure. I hope to GOD this saves you the aggravation I had. dlibson Jan 28 2009, 07:46pm Did it stay good? Or have you had to bleed more? HahnsB2 Jan 28 2009, 08:32pm I do mine differently, I open the bleeder and force a whole syringe full of brake fluid down, works the first time. toetagandrew Jan 28 2009, 09:21pm Did it stay good? Or have you had to bleed more? From what I understand if you have to bleed it again your probably have a problem some where in your clutch system. I do mine differently, I open the bleeder and force a whole syringe full of brake fluid down, works the first time. That is what I did, hopefully no one thinks i tried to force the air out with a empty syringe :P. Oh, from the picture caption at first glance it sounds like you were sucking fluid out of the MC. I usually remove the plunger and then attach the syringe to the hose, fill the syringe and stick the plunger back in. |
