I just noticed a TON of classified ads that are getting clogged up with useless conversation, sure a free bump is one thing, but asking tons of questions with no intention to buy is just leading the seller on and it's clogging up their thread.
example "if you were closer etc etc" they can clearly see where the person is, I guess I'm just being anal, but looking real quick at a thread that has 25 replies makes me think something is probably sold, and if they aren't, I'll have to weed through all the junk in order to find the info I want.
I agree, but I don't know how to stop it. I guess we could go through and delete the useless questions, but then there would be multiple emails sent wondering where their post went. You just have to trust that folks are intelligent enough to know what to ask and what not, and obviously that trust is sometimes misplaced.

what about setting it up where the threads are automatically closed to everyone but the OP? Then people interested would have to PM the seller...
PS: This pisses me off to no end, but like zoom said, what can we do about it?

lol it was just a comment, no suggestions sadly.

Good thought Dakotah, but I don't know how to do that either. You can restrict people from boards, from replying, from posting, etc. But I don't know of a way to let someone post and then no one else can reply, unless we lock the thread immediately.
We'll just have to live with it until folks get smart. :E

You could have it set so all threads and posts have to be approved by a mod.
So forever?
Or longer. :E

I don't want to go there unless it really gets stupid. I've not counted how many posts are made in there each day, but I'm guess it would be over 100 that would have to be approved. And someone would have to be on the ball and approving them all the time so someone wouldn't miss a deal they had been waiting on.
