i've been thinking about it, and this is what i think i want. please point out any flaws in my logic.

'89-'94 Mustang 5.0L H.O. ('89+ for mass air, and pre-95 to avoid messing with the newer computers). would like to buy the whole car complete with T-5 transmission and computer. it may be more expensive to buy a car (wrecked), but easy becuase i won't have to make so many trips to the yard, i like to take my sweet time, and there are other parts on the car that i might want to use...heck, even things like bolts and wires and wheels and shift knobs and rear ends...

set up the accessories similar to that of a '97+ 5.0 explorer to avoid as many clearance problems as possible. how hard is it to convert a complete mustang assembly to look like an explorer? or, perhaps a '94 Mustang setup would work almost as well. that is, if i can find a '94 car. i've heard that a '89-'93 setup would have the accessories too spaced apart, and run into many more clearance problems.

a stock Ranger radiator (aluminum 4 core), electric fan(s), stock 8.8" rear (3.55 l/s), Kaufman engine mounts and headers round out the package.

how does this sound? if i ever get around to it, it will hopefully be my second engine swap...the first being my dad's '57 chevy that hasn't even started yet...i'll definitely be bugging him about it now though. is a Ranger swap do-able by a relative novice like myself? i plan on having an econobox daily driver by the time the project starts, and expect it to be a long project.

Sounds like a plan to me! Definitely go for the Explorer accessory drive set up.
