I'm getting an overhead console from an explorer. What I need to know is does anyone have the wiring diagram for this? It used to be on the RPS site but since that is down I have nothing to go on. Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks in advance...

Chuck

My hook up is a lil different the domelight wires on your diagram are next to each other, on mine one is in the corner of the plug and the other one where the fuse wire is, but Im going to rewire the way you have it so it will go through the fuse, so i don't blow my shi .
Thank you for the diagram

well, got mine installed this afternoon. The only thing i have left to do is to figure out a way to hook the temperature sender to the two wires(i don't have the other side of the plug). That shouldn't be too hard. Oh BTW BE CAREFUL when you put the screws in your roof. :dunce: i almost ran one through it cause i had two different lengths of screw and grabbed the wrong one and didnt realize until i cranked and cranked and finally looked at my roof and a itty bitty little dimple is up there now. Oh well my console looks good. . . .I'll just tap it down a little and dab some touch up on 'er. Im the only one whos tall enuff to see up there. . .

Kevin, thanks ALOT for the wiring diagram. .

Where are you guys getting your explorer overhead consoles? From a junkyard? or brand new from the dealer? Also, do you need a mounting bracket to do this? Anyone have a step by step detail, cause I would really like to do this. Thanks! ~

Yeah, I get mine strictly from salvage yards, brand new would break us I'm sure!!! I search high and low for these and many other things to provide my fellow Ranger/Mazda pu buddies & myself!!!

I got mine from salvage yard too, paid $25 for console and $30 for temp sensor at the dealer. There are pics Fonzy placed, and diagram by Kevin Pate, and if you have a different color wires you can still follow the diagram, I did. The battery pack I used was frof a lantern w/8D cell bats. If you have a plug at the end of the wires make sure you mark them in the order you pull them out of the plug, that will make things alot easier. Will have pics soon.
