A supercharger is a bit more expensive and much harder to hook up, other than the piping and belt, because it is difficult to find a place for it. Either place on the hot side over the exhaust but that keeps the supercharger too hot, or the cool side where you need a whole new intake for it.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, OVER?
Why not a Root that sits right on top of the intake then the filter can sit right in the original space? Well that's how I plan on doing it with my 4.0 SOHC.
Is this a response to something that I've missed?

I don't know what this is. I'm waiting for the post with a link to someone selling superchargers or something.

That additional 1 PSI is too much for a Ranger, would likely melt your engine into one solid hunk of metal and cause spontaneous combustion of small children.
