Do you mean the shifter knob?

Take a hair blower, point it to the knob for like 15 min then pull straight up on the knob.

I had to bore out my new shifter cause the hole was to small.. other then that, I haven't had ANY problems!

no not the shifter knob, the little knob on the end of the window crank.

Oh ok... I didn't take it off... I just taped it before painting it!!!

I suggest not painting the crank though... I regret it now... The paint gets scratched easly now cause it's something you use everyday.... It's the 3rd time I re-paint it!

Whul, this is a little off topic question. Your black ranger there is that a '94 or abouts (noticed the chrome grille flashing which was only on around 94's). Who made that billet grill, and where'd you get it, oh yeah and how hard was it to put on. I've been looking for one that replaces that whole bottom grill piece that doesn't involve cutting etc.

Well.. the middle one (black) is conected to my ignition... Push button start.

The yellow ones are my shaved door buttons to open the driver door and passenger door....
;)

So does that mean you don't need the key to get your truck started. :) Or does it still require the key in the On position? I think I just answered my own question... but that's interesting. I like that.

My 97 has that chrome trim on top as well... I belive the xlt models 94-97 have that chrome trim.

How do you like that pushbutton start?

I like the push button... I rarely use it though... But it freaks everyone out when they're in the passenger seat and I start the truck by pushing that button.... I still have to put the key in the "ON" position first though!

I was just bord one day so I connected one side of my starter kill relay to the button and the other side of the button to the other side of my relay.. .. bypassing my starter kill... I know I know... but who would think to push that button after breaking in my truck and smashing my ignition ??? Unless one of you guys steal my truck now!!!

And another thing, where did u get that piece that goes over the radio, where the buttons are. Ive been looking for a piece like that.

Splash
Jun 17 2001, 06:18pm
actualy... I still have to push down the clutch... Just go in the dash and test the the wires until you find the one that is live when the key is in the crank position.... Then run a live 12V wire to a push button, then to this crank wire... That's it

That little piece that goes over the radio came with the stereo kit for my deck... just go to any stereo shop and ask for it.... I paid something like $5 ....
