I have a problem. I decided to get real busy today and clean the Ranger up good, and in doing so, I decided to clean the TB, with some Gumout TB Cleaner. This stuff says it wouldn't screw up the coating on the BBK TB. Well after squirting some into the TB per instructions I noticed my check engine light came on. I have a MIL Eliminator in my O2 after the cat, but I think I screwed something up. It was blowing some black smoke out when cleaning the TB, but I figured that to be normal. After I cleaned the TB I took it out for a spin, and it seemed alot slower. Sluggish. I am going check my MIL Eliminator tomorrow and reset my computer and see what happens. The can didn't say anything about messing up 02 sensors, but it did say it could over heat the cats, but since I have the MIL Eliminator my computer thinks it is still running just fine. Anyone have any clues? Thanks.

I wouldn't be too worried. Go ahead with resetting the computer and see if that does any good. I would bet that the cleaner has tripped a sensor and it will wear off after you drive for a while.

One other question....Why do you have a mil-eliminator if you have a cat? Is the cat gutted?

Well it is soon to be completely removed!! No cat just straight pipe from JBA y-pipe to Borla muffler.

Well apparently, spraying the cleaner caused my computer to throw a code of some sorts. I reset the computer and the check engine light went off. I took her to the Ford dealership to pick up my new slave cylinder and rear main seal, and she seems to run just fine now. Especially after 80mph! I got the new slave cylinder and rear main seal, for $98.16 I guess it pays to know someone behind the counter!

What is that? And where do I get one?

The MIL is just something that allows you to run no cats and keep the check engine light off. You place it in the wiring harness of the last O2 sensor. All that sensor does is tell your computer that the cats are working, nothing else. You can buy them from Dallas Mustangs in pairs, for 79.95 or make your own, but the ones from Dallas mustang or just plug and play. The are for 4 wires 02 sensors so check you truck and make sure, I think they had some 3 wire 02 sensors in earlier trucks.
