I just swapped out my 60/40 for the Power Lumbar Sport bucket seats. I have a stick so I need a center console that fits between the seats but doesn't go all the way up to the dash. Is there one Ford makes for the ranger or should I look for an explorer? I'm going to check out some yards this week and I just need to know what to look for. Any help would be appreciated

Neato, you have the same truck as me. Ok, I was looking in my old 97 dealership catalog and they show a ranger with the buckets and a center console. So you could order a ranger specfic one. A explorer one should work as well. Look around those junk yards. Since you could get a better deal.

This is pretty much the standard Ranger/Explorer console. Mater of fact, this is a stock '98 console with an earilier model Explorer arm rest and cupholders. The base is the same, they just keep changing the add-ons. Just make sure you get one w/ a metal frame (that holds the arm rest), not all plastic.

O-Ranger: I found 3-4 of those at a local yard in some Explorers. The guy on the phone said I have to pull them myself so is there any special tools I'm going to need to remove them from the explorers? Thanks, Marc

screw-driver (phillips), small socket set. Take a knife, just in case - mine had a sony remote installed with the toughest wire I've ever encountered.
My 93 has the air lumbar and bolster and this is the center console that came with it, storage bin in the middle, two cupholders and change holder up front, and the armrest.

I'm thinkin' about finding some explorer buckets to swap into my '99 reg. cab. Are there any certain years I should look for that would be the easiest to install? Do any of them just bolt up?

The seats I pulled from a 98 Explorer sport bolt right in to my '00 w/ no problems. I had to stick with my bench though and now I'm stuck with the seats and a gray center console. But they do make comfortable game room seats. :D :D :D

just curious, how much space is between the two front seats when you get the buckets like that? Just thinking of a custom sub box/console project, extending to the back wall....

About 6" depending where you measure from, and thats with the stock sport buckets.
