is the Taurus 3.0 intake the same as the Ranger?

The lowers are completely different. The uppers will interchange (i.e. bolt on), but there are differences, and modifications are needed to make a Taurus intake work on a Ranger.

The 2001 Taurus now has a composite upper intake. I'm trying to secure one cheap so I can pilot the swap on the '98+ Rangers.

so the older 3.0 taurus lower isn't the same but the upper is?

The Taurus lower & the Ranger/Aerostar lowers are different, due to the Taurus engine being transverse mounted.

From what I understand, all the Ranger/Aerostar lower intakes are the same.

now what woudl be the benefit from switching the intake to a aerostar? is the throttle body removable? is it larger? more aftermarket part for the aerostar :E ?

3.0 Probe = 3.0 Taurus = 3.0 Tempo/Topaz = FWD

Upper swappable to an RWD application, lower intake NOT swappable.
