View Full Version : intake FormatXformaT Jun 11 2001, 06:10am is the Taurus 3.0 intake the same as the Ranger? RangerBill Jun 11 2001, 07:29am The lowers are completely different. The uppers will interchange (i.e. bolt on), but there are differences, and modifications are needed to make a Taurus intake work on a Ranger. The 2001 Taurus now has a composite upper intake. I'm trying to secure one cheap so I can pilot the swap on the '98+ Rangers. FormatXformaT Jun 11 2001, 09:45am so the older 3.0 taurus lower isn't the same but the upper is? RangerBill Jun 11 2001, 03:06pm The Taurus lower & the Ranger/Aerostar lowers are different, due to the Taurus engine being transverse mounted. From what I understand, all the Ranger/Aerostar lower intakes are the same. BOSS 3.0 Jun 11 2001, 03:14pm '86 to '01 Aerostar and Ranger are the same (see the 12 other intake posts on this board... ) r4ng3r95 Feb 21 2003, 01:28pm now what woudl be the benefit from switching the intake to a aerostar? is the throttle body removable? is it larger? more aftermarket part for the aerostar :E ? ajshades Feb 21 2003, 03:35pm how fair is that my post got closed about intakes :bawl: I can tell the mods really love me - haha jk what about the lower and upper intakes on probes - or are they to old and rare to worry about? no offince to probe racer :) RangerBill Feb 21 2003, 07:58pm Originally posted by ajshades how fair is that my post got closed about intakes :bawl: I can tell the mods really love me - haha jk what about the lower and upper intakes on probes - or are they to old and rare to worry about? no offince to probe racer :) 3.0 Probe = 3.0 Taurus = 3.0 Tempo/Topaz = FWD Upper swappable to an RWD application, lower intake NOT swappable. |
