Does the radio have to come out to get that black peice off that surrounds it?? Also, how does the 4x4 knob come off. I want to put factory driving lights on and I want to check to see if wiring is there. The wiring is under the truck so... By the way it's a 99 Ranger 4x4.

to pull the radio out all you have to do is get a wire coat hanger and cut out 2 4 inch sections. then you bend them into a u shape and stick them in the little holes in the side of the radio. make sure you push them all of the way in. then just pull the radio out by the bend in the coat hanger.

You will have to take the radio out first. You can buy the removal tool from any Autozone or Advance Auto Parts stores. Unplug it and then there are two screws above the radio that need to come out. Then you just grab it from the sides and pull it out. The 4x4 switch snaps in i believe. I have a 2x4 so i'm not sure.
