View Full Version : PICS.....F9000's rear bags....
rangerfunk Jun 11 2001, 03:36pm well i took the bolt out that was close to the bags and moved it to the top, Here is a pic of the bag and a pic with 50psi in the bags, i ride at 35-40, but i plan to lift the bottom of the bags up 1 1/2 inches to get it close to the compressed height so i can ride at less psi.

Stinson Jun 11 2001, 05:32pm That setup looks sweet. I was ready to go ahead and order it, but I am going to have to stick with my guns and finich saving for wheels. That looks bad ass though. Cya
ScottBW Jun 11 2001, 07:37pm Where did you get those rear brackets? and do those bolt to the leaf spring?
Kevin@AAC Jun 11 2001, 09:18pm That is an air ride kit, for rear leaf kit.
TX Ranger Jun 11 2001, 11:16pm that's really sweet man!! Did the bracket for the top come w/ the kit?? Your truck just gets better :)
rangerfunk Jun 12 2001, 07:55am like kevin said that is an airride tech kit, comes with line, fittings, upper and lower brackets and bolts, the lower bracket slides inbetween the leafs and the axle, actually on mine it goes under the blocks it has 4 or 5 holes down the center of the bracket so you can move it back and forth. Scott if your interested, the part # for the kit with the f9000 bags is ARK3002. Also you can check out there site, click on online cat. and then leaf spring kits. www.ridetech.com

NegativeCamber Jun 12 2001, 11:03am Hey funk, Your not gonna get very low like that...That setup is for hauling ****...not dropping your truck...You need a 5 inch notch at least in the back to make your truck low...I dont think with that bag setup you can do something like that..cut your bed apart, its the right thing to do...Unless you have 13 inch rims or something, then that will make your truck look low..
ScottBW Jun 12 2001, 11:17am I dont know, Maybe its just me, but it looks pretty damn low to me. That picture he posted in this thread is with the bags aired up, I seen his other pic with it aired out and sits real low.
NegativeCamber Jun 12 2001, 11:20am Rangerfunk, show me a pic of it aired out...
TX Ranger Jun 12 2001, 11:59am go here for a few pics of his truck laid out, looks pretty damn low to me...

NegativeCamber Jun 12 2001, 12:29pm Yeah, those bolt on bag kits i guess are pretty good..That truck looks nice. It looks like he needs like 1 or 2 inches till hes layin frame though..www.lowerstandards.com (http://www.lowerstandards.com)
Kevin@AAC Jun 12 2001, 03:09pm yes, if you want to lay frame this is not the kit for you, but if you want to go low and be able to drive, with a decent ride quality it works!
rangerfunk Jun 12 2001, 03:19pm There's always somebody trying to bring somebody else down. All this setup is designed to do is tuck the rear tires which it does very well. I would have done a step notch, but i don't have a welder, don't want to hassle with removing the bed and taking it somewhere to have it done(My airtank, compressor is mounted to the bed and the airline is run through it.) i also like the way it looks just like this, the back looks even with the front, both tuckin tire up to the rim. You should know those are not 13 inch rims.

Stinson Jun 12 2001, 05:52pm I wish that I could do a step notch, but for some people that setup is not practical. So I will also be doing that same bag setup soon as I get wheels I have had the front bagged for awhile and have been waiting to do that back. Funks truck is pretty low, and I bet it rides pretty damn good, and that is one thing that im going for cause my truck is my ONLY transportaion. I drive it A LOT. I have 94K on my truck its a 98 and I bought it brand new. Maybe a few years down the raod when it is practical I will do a step notch and a BD, but untill then I will be using the same bag kit that is for"is for hauling ****...not dropping your truck" Funk ur truck looks badass. Glad ur happy with it. Oh and NegativeCamber......ur truck is pretty bad ass too. Here is mine Cya
rangerfunk Jun 12 2001, 07:01pm Hey man, it rides great, i love these freakin f9000 bags, as for a step notch, i'm sure i'll do one one day, after my truck is paid for and i buy something new.

Romeo86 Jun 12 2001, 09:32pm man i love that truck. i wish mine looked half that good but what do u expect when u have a 86 ranger and not a newer one. i love my truck but i hate the height. i need sum money cuz i'm going to get a flip kit and bags for the rear and i'm going to lower my front with aim or beltech lowering arms. i have no idea which is better.i was wonderin if any of u have seen a droped long wheelbase older ranger. and does it look good at all. i love ur truck man!!later:cool:
oh so low Jun 12 2001, 11:09pm looks good . what kind of lift do you get
rangerfunk Jun 12 2001, 11:34pm In the picture above the bag is at 9 inches, they have a max height of 13 inches, my shocks keep them from going much higher than that, i will have to take the shocks off and measure the actual distance.

NegativeCamber Jun 13 2001, 07:47am I wasnt trying to bring you down at all, please understand that. theres nothing else i really have to say.. Anyone know where i can get those f9000 bags? Cause im thinking about maybe putting them into a cantilever 4-link. You people think thats possible? Or are the bags not as storng as the 2600lbs?
rangerfunk Jun 13 2001, 08:19am understood, i got mine from airride www.ridetech.com. I don't think i have ever seen a sleeve bag used in a cantilever setup, the bags have 1/4 inch ports and a compressed height of 4.5 inches, the 2600# bags have a compressed height of 3 inches, so if you have an existing cantilever system made for 2600# bags you would need to modify it.
98LowRanger Jun 13 2001, 08:33am Looking good man! Looks like that setup lifts a lot more then the airshocks and you have a better ride too. How hard is it to install? It comes with everything that you need right? The only suspension stuff that I have done is lower my truck 4/5 and I am not sure about installing any type of bag so tell me if you think that I could do it. Oh and is it a complete bolt on? Thanks in advance.
Mark
rangerfunk Jun 13 2001, 11:35am It is completely bolt on, the lower bracket just slides under the rear alxe, the upper just bolts to the frame, the hardest part was drilling the holes, you could do it ,no problem, it comes with everything, including line and fittings. Lifts a hell of a lot better than the air shocks did.

ScottBW Jun 13 2001, 12:50pm I assume you are running those rear bags with that ridepro valve block you got, so my question is, How fast does it lower/raise?
rangerfunk Jun 13 2001, 04:14pm you assume to much. i'm using my manual toggle valve for the back still, the ridepros i have for the front, my manual valves have 1/8 inch ports which is small, but it still lifts fast, like 2-3 seconds to get it to 50psi, but because there is no weight in the back it takes twice that long to go all the way down. I'm supposed to sell my stock rims and tires and will use that money to buy some 3/8 inch smc valves for the front and move the ridepros to the back, so i will let you know.

ScottBW Jun 13 2001, 04:51pm ahh, ok cool, keep us posted, I am heavily thinking on getting that rear leaf setup, looks pretty good.:afro:
NegativeCamber Jun 13 2001, 11:01pm If you want fast ass bags then buy a Mass Flow gauge from MIC. I have 1/2 lines to all 4 corners, F,B,S,S. It go's up and down just as fast as hydraulics, Up or down in less then a second. Or if you want it toned down just a bit you can go w/ there 3/8 gauges which are called high flow, these are still fast but not as fast as hydro's. I'd say stick w/ the pnumatic cause theres no way in hell that they will break, unlike what ive heard about all those electric valves.
www.masterimagecustoms.com
rangerfunk Jun 14 2001, 09:42am i've heard people on the airup dicussion board say that their mic valve would stick open or closed and that they had to replace the o-ring, mine have also stuck open and closed, i''m assuming the guts of the mic toggle valves are similar if not exactly the same as mine only the orifice is bigger, i don't see any way it could break, but the springs and orings will wear out over time, how ever i was told they come with a life time warranty which is something you won't find with any electric valves..........How many lines do you have to run into the cab for the valves, obviously you run atleast one supply line, but what about dump and supply to the bags? Have you ever had a problem with them sticking, i was going to upgrade from the ones i have until they started sticky and i read that some peoples mic toggle vavles had also stuck open on fill or dump? the reason i'm asking so many questions is because i'm looking for some faster valves for the front of my truck, the ridepro valves lift fine but they dump freakin slow.

NegativeCamber Jun 14 2001, 10:26am I have 5 half-inch lines running to my gauge, i from my tanks, and 1 to each corner.. My gauge doesnt stick at all, One of my friends w/ a taco's gauge was sticking which was from mic, so he called them up and they sent him a new one.. I would deffinitly suggest MIC mass flow gauge, you wont want anything faster then it.
LowRedRanger Jun 14 2001, 12:47pm yea so i have the djm 4/5 drop with djm shocks what all would i need to bag it the front and the back or should i wait awhile cause i just did the 4/5 drop but i already want lower but i think i have 15 by 7.5 rims so would they tuck and with the bags you say you just take off the bump stop and dont do a notch does your axle ever hit the frame like that? cause if you say you get a good ride i get a terrible ride with right now cause i am sitting on the bumpstops and bouncing all over the place but i am afraid to take them off for fear of the axle hitting frame. thanks for any info and for listening
Stinson Jun 14 2001, 01:24pm just chop them down or do a small notch cya
rangerfunk Jun 14 2001, 04:05pm Hey lowred, you can use those bags just like air shocks if you don't want to get a tank and valves and all that right now. the reason i say take off the bumpstops was so it will go down to the frame when you let the air out, but you can raise it up so that it doesn't hit the frame, i would cut those bumpstops in have if your axle is sitting on them, mine was not that low after my 4/5 drop. To bag the front you need mounts(Blausplash), 255C bags($60 each), i'd use atleast a 3 gal tank($35-$40) and a thomas 315($79-$100), line and fittings, and valves, 4 electric valves($200 for 3/8 inch smc valves from airlift) or 2 manual mic valves( i think their cheapest ones are $59 each, $79 for the high flow valves). You will need a sawzall(reciprocating saw) to cut away some of the spring pocket and a grinder would be nice. that's about it.
LowRedRanger Jun 14 2001, 05:19pm yea well that's just gonna have to wait awhile cause i aint common up with that dough right now
99 Supercab Jun 14 2001, 09:30pm Hey Paul,I told ya you`d like those f9000 bags. Your setup looks identical to mine except for my notch is a little bigger. Tell me again what valves your using, the ones I have now are super slow and its getting on my nerves.
rangerfunk Jun 15 2001, 07:44am How slow is super slow? i'm using a manual toggle valve made by pneumadyne, they are identical to the mic valves except the largest port they offer is 1/8 inch so they are still slowing it down, like i posted before it lift fast enough 2 seconds to get to 50psi, but it takes atleast 4 seconds to let all that air out. i used to have them on the front until i got the ride pros, there was just too many air lines under my dash, big mess. Yeah the f7076 bags suck compare to these. Those times are guesstimates, i'm going to time it today and see how fast it actually goes.
