I ordered a 16" permacool e-fan from summit but thats all i orderd. I just wanted to know if the permacool wiring kit that comes with a 170 degree F thermal sensor, 12 ft. of 16 gauge wire, connectors, fuse block taps, fuse holder with 30 amp fuse, and instructions. and a relay is all i need.

Thanks

For a basic install, yes. This will not work if you're wanting to tie it in with your A/C.

With a basic set-up like this, no air will be drawn over the condensor when sitting still, and the A/C will NOT work. Here's how I rigged mine. It works flawlessly.

In order for the A/C to work properly, you must have air-flow across the condensor.

If you have an elec. fan with a thermal switch to trigger it on & off, you will NOT have a constant flow of air across the condenso when the A/C is on, as you would with the engine driven fan. This is because the fan will cycle on & off, depending on temp w/respect to the thermal switch (i.e. fan thermostat).

Subsequently, with the lack of air flow, the A/C is not cooling (creating condensation, hence removing water from the air in the cabin), and the A/C is humid & crappy.

If you tie the fan into the A/C control panel, the fan kicks on when the A/C, A/C Max, DEF modes are selected, air is pulled across the condesor, & the A/C works as it should.

TRUST me--I did a lot of trial & error on my fan install before I found the one that woked best. And it DOES work, looks stock, & works as if it were a factory piece!!!!

He's right guys!!! I learned the hard way as well about a year ago... His setup is really clean as well as stock looking... I'm planning on doing it like Bill in the future.

so how long do you think the whole install would take and could an average person put it in cause it sounds kind of difficult but that might just be me and also do you recomend getting the asp pulley at the same time. thanks for the info.

If you are going to do both at the same time (my recommendation!), remove the factory fan and shroud, install the pulley, install the e-fan. Your knuckles will surely appreciate it!
