View Full Version : Radio Problem Updates...

Well, I installed a noise supressor.... using both the coil and the capacitor....the radio still makes the noise. I just reinstalled my stock radio (after knocking off the dust) and broke out my old cassette tapes... *man I feel old* and the factory radio never messed up. So I am lead to believe that my Alpine H/U is fried in some way. It's an Alpine CDE-7853, so does anyone have a clue as to what is damaged? I called a parts warehouse that Alpine directed me to and I asked if they had the whole (logic) board, you know all circuits soldered and the such. The lady literally laughed and me and said they only sell the individual components. They don't sell the entire board. Which I guess makes sense. So anyone have a clue as to which "part" may be bad? I am probably going to break out the ol' volt / ohm meter and manually check each resistor, capacitor and diode, but it's been so long I don't remember how to... Thanks for any suggestions...

Ex90, be ready to give me instructions later tonight... I know you are more of an electronics guru than I am.

Save your self some time and money. It will be cheaper to just go buy a new one then to have this one fixed or try to figure it out.

You know Bassn, I started to post a reply about how wrong you were and that it was only a 35 cent or one dollar capacitor that was giving me all this problem, but as I am waiting for that amp I bought from Ranger4DBZ, I am examining this radio and realized... it doesn't have the RCA output jacks... (Or whatever they are called to run the cable from the Radio to the Amp). So boy do I feel like a Jack Ass... (Hee Haw, Hee Haw).
