My new exhaust goes from the cat converter to the stock pipe then it goes into a exstension pipe then to a resonated tip right past the cab tell me what you think it sounds good there is no muffler will this affect my performance and will it make my truck run hotter i plan on making it longer later and going to duals but thats too exspensive right now so right now my truck sounds like a 4.0 with a dynomax exhaust

p.s. what happened to rangerpowersports.com it isnt coming up

With no backpressure, you will lose a lot of your bottom end torque, which the 3.0 is lacking, anyhow.

i am not trying to call you a liar or anything but my truck seems like it has more low end now which if it loses a little it dont bother me i am just worried about gas mileage and overheating

No muff, not good. You need some back p. As for over heating should have no prob, Mileage, I don't know what's going to happen there. I would go with a good perfomance muff. I just put on a flowmaster 40 sires. Sounds GOOD!!! I wasn't much help, sorry.

what does the back pressure so for my truck i mean if it runs like before why do i need it all i did was make it louder till i get duals

i am going to get 2 40 series muffs for my truck then dual it later but right now i dont have the money

p.s. with dual exhaust do you need a muff cause my dad has a 92 flareside with a 5.0 with duals and it sounds awesome but it has no muffler //// is it illeagal in ohio to take your muffler off i mean as long as you have your cat conv. i should be fine right

Since you still have the cat you should have enough backpressure.

Hey there fella's... I recently cut my muffler off and ran a pipe out the side of my truck before the rear wheels. Whenever I reved the engine in neutral it would burbble on the decelleration. While in drive, as I slowed down to a stop light, it would burbble as well. BUT when in OverDrive, it would not. It sounded great in overdrive, accelerating and decelerating. But I hated not being able to rev my engine at people to provoke them to race :D I am sure it is a lack of backpressure... So I added a glass pack (temperary) last week, and love it already.
I have talked with the local muffler shop (they just opened, so I had to make friends real quick to get some good prices :D hehe)
and we chatted about true dual exhaust. We looked under my truck for a good 10 minutes, and came up with a way to get true dual exhaust AND side exit the pipes with some nice tips, in front of each rear tire. THATS RIGHT, LIGHTNING STYLE EXHAUST on each side of the truck WITHOUT worrying about the heat on the gas tank, and other vital areas under there.
We are going to go at this in a couple weeks. I will be sure to show EVERYONE on here!!! :D

Sorry to change the subject like that, but I just got all riled up! haha
