just wondering if i could swap a 302 from an old Crown Vic. (mid 80's) into my 97 Ranger (4 cyl)?????

and is $ 550.00 (canadian) a decent price......
it includes rad, trannny etc.... pretty much complete engine!

what would i be able to use in this swap if any????

thanks in advance!

From what I have been reading, I think that the larger cars had the 5.0 in them but they only had about 150 hp. That would be a step down from a 5.0 HO that starts at about 225. I did get my front accessory set up of an older Mark VII though...

Don't think that the radiator would work,

so, getting this motor isn't worth the cost and trouble of the engine swap??

in need of advice!

Ok, well from my point of view it is a good deal, but there are more viable 5.0 combo's to start a swap from, if you aren't worried about hp or plan on rebuilding it and using after market heads and intake etc it would be fine, Any 5.0 is going to be better then a 4 banger though and its just what you want your truck to be. Plus I would never advise somebody not to do a swap. After all Life is Great when ya got a V8.

couple more ????'s
i am definitely going to get this motor and do the swap, but need some help on some of the options.

should i keep the EFI on the engine or opt to put a CARB setup, or shoud i install it with the EFI since all of the wires and sensors are still with the engine (including computer)

the guy said the CARB setup would allow me to keep mostly everything original ......to allow the 4 cyl to swap back in easy with the wiring and computer if and when i plan to sell the Ranger with it's original motor.

what will work?
any opinions!!!!

What I mean is, do you want good fuel economy or do you just want the engine to run and have a little more power. You must have some kind of goal here with your truck? Are you doing the swap just to put a V8 in her, or are you doing it for other reasons? I say go for the EIF, it’s a little more involved, but at least you will have good gas mileage along with that added power. There should be all kinds of 5.0 EFI induction systems at the local junkyard, they should sell them cheap, best of luck.
